Celebrating 50 Years


Msgr. Hunt Council 3312 was formed in 1950 in a small community known as Warrendale. Catholic men from the parishes of SS. Peter & Paul, St. Christopher, St. Suzanne, Our Lady of Divine Grace, and Our Lady Gate of Heaven attended the first meeting held January 13th, 1950 to discuss the organization of a new council. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Chester Andrews, Grand Knight of Holy Cross Council. George Szymanski was accepted as the leader to organize the council and became acting Grand Knight.

Msgr. John Hunt
Our Namesake


The name of the late Msgr. John Hunt, former pastor of the Visitation Parish, was submitted by James Novak as the name of the new council. George Szymanski and Henry Wojtowicz contacted two sisters of Msgr. John Hunt who gave their permission to use the name for the new council.

Ground Breaking Ceremonies were held Sunday, February 13th, 1955 for construction of the Msgr. Hunt K of C Building.
The Knights of Columbus


The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.

The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 12,000 councils and 1.6 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan.
